Position Purpose
The Software Asset Manager for India looks after the Software governances for the India territory and APAC region. The position entails liaising with the teams to recommend software in accordance to the usage and advising the best metric for efficient usage. The team functionally reports to the Global SAM function and acts as a relay to establish the global governances, co-ordinate software inventories, ensure compliance of the usage and reporting to local stakeholders and senior management.
Responsibilities
Direct Responsibilities
Manage Inventory campaigns:
§ Conducting inventory campaigns for India and APAC region for all software in the desktop and server remits
§ Ensure compliance of the licensing for the regions
§ Validate the costs expected at the back of the inventory campaigns and inform local stakeholders
§ Ensure completion of actions basis the findings (if any) from inventory campaigns
§ Budget and Spend management:
§ Ensuring the budgets are created for the software that are installed
§ Projecting the costs for future usage in line with compliance
§ Liaise with onshore teams for global software costs and to reflect them in the budget appropriately
§ Co-ordinate the for the payment of global invoices with local stakeholders
- Inform local stakeholders on their budgets and utilizations
SAM Governance:
§ Creating and disseminating information campaigns on software Do’s and Don’t
§ Ensuring compliance of software usage for the remits – in line with group/ IT security guidelines
§ Presenting up to date status to local and global stakeholders to facilitate decision making
§ Perform regular clean ups for the Software to ensure correct usage
