Job Description – OTC Transaction Management

Position Purpose

To efficiently measure and manage the TM process within BNP (MO-Derivatives).


Direct Responsibilities

§  Ensure all derivative activities are produced accurately and in a timely manner.

§  Ensure that, client issues/concerns are addressed and resolved within the agreed timelines.

§  Ensure high level of communication network is established will all the departments within the Business


§  Defining the Key Performance Indicators for the process and achieving the same on a regular basis.

§  Collating the data and providing MIS to Supervisor in a timely manner.

§  Should adhere to the set SLA s and ensure delivery within the agreed timelines.

§  Should be a good team player and work closely with all team members

§  Should work towards error free processing and cost minimization for the team.

§  Should be willing to work under extreme pressure and for extended hours, if job demands

§  Dealing with the various internal and external stakeholders effectively and efficiently.

§  Carrying out various identification checks to comply with anti-money-laundering regulations and prevent fraud

§  Answering client account manager, other internal department queries and handling telephone calls concerning risk-monitoring queries.

§  Ensure all the queries handled with utmost care without errors/mistakes and within the TAT.

§  Prioritize the work and perform the same with due diligence.

§  Taking corrective measures/action in consultation with the Assistant Manager/Manager.

§  Escalate unresolved open items to Assistant Manager/Manager notice.

§  Maintain Communication Channels with internal peer groups.

§  Participate in Cross Training and ensure the Knowledge transfer between the team and three processes.

§  Participate in Brain Storming Sessions and share the best practices and ideas with the peer groups and team members.

§  Should work closely with all internal departments to resolve conflicts

§  Knowledge on compliance laws and swift message types would be an added advantage.

§  Mailbox Management / Queue Management

Contributing Responsibilities

Trade Processing

  • Processing Derivative trades in Middle office systems
  • Providing trade notifications to third parties such as fund trustees, Custodian etc.
  • Resolving the trade-related exceptions.
  • Validation of trades set up in the Application.



  • Matching the trades via Electronic platform for OTC derivatives products
  • Paper matching the for OTC derivatives products



Cash Management


§  OTC settlement processing.

§  Processing of accounting entries.

§  Contacting custodians on cash settlement on a daily basis.

Technical & Behavioral Competencies


§  Thorough understanding of all Capital market, Financial Instruments, Investment baking processes and above average accounting skills 

§  Strong analytical skills, detail orientation, service commitment, and solid organizational and interpersonal skills.

§  Supervise, Monitor, Control and Co-ordinate all activities in the department.

§  Lead and motivate the employees in the department

§  Identify and develop succession plan.

§  Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment, prioritizes multiple tasks, and meets strict deadlines

§  Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications and strong MS Excel skills required.

Specific Qualifications (if required)

¡ Knowledge on OTC products 

¡ OTC – Swaps (IRS, CDS, CDX, Overnight Index, Inflation and Total Return), Swaptions, Options.

¡ Investigate and assign client instructions within the respective deadlines.

¡ Ability to interact with both internal and external clients to resolve issues and queries.

¡ Query resolution in accordance with time frames set out in Client SLA s

¡ Investigate accurately payment instructions and client investigations within respective deadlines.

¡ Ability to interact with both internal and external clients to resolve issues and queries.

¡ Query resolution in accordance with time frames set out in Client SLA s

¡ To Process swifts / client queries in a timely basis.
