Position Purpose

An IT professional responsible for understanding the core Fund Accounting and Middle Office applications to ensure continuity of and guarantee the quality of applications and opportunities for optimisation within their scope. The ideal candidate will have prior experience of Linux/RHEL based applications/tools, experience querying SQL and/or Mongo databases. Familiarity with Fund Accounting and Trade Management processes would be an advantage. The candidate must also be able to think strategically, taking into account the future of the FA/MO platform. Part of a four person team within a larger IT group

Responsibilities

·       Relationship Management

o   Be a key participant with the external vendors, and the internal IT teams within the hosting location of Paris as a point of contact in relation to technical matters;

o   Work closely with the Application Production Support (APS) teams as necessary to ensure first class support services. Act as a key point of contact and escalation point on requests and issues to ensure prompt response and resolution; steer incident analysis and implement preventative action plans for improvement;

o   Develop an understanding of the key business drivers and work with the Engineering, Delivery teams and vendors to understand and specify requirements and to deliver/promote appropriate solutions;

·       Application IT Roadmaps – Functional and Technical

o   Input to the three-year high level technical roadmaps in conjunction with the technical architects and other stakeholders and create more detailed annual roadmaps;

o   Produce, agree and maintain an ongoing assessment and planning for all technical evolutions of the FA/MO platform in hand with the IT Application Owner, Domain Owner, Change/Project Managers and APS.

o   Ensure full communication to all involved parties of the technical plans.

·       Application and Data Security

o   Comply with and enforce the norms and standards in use: engineering, architecture and security norms and participate in best practice communities;

o   Major stakeholder for all vulnerability and non-compliance reviews

o   Oversee user access management arrangements and manage any required changes;

o   Review results of security testing, working on the development of remediation plans as required and oversee execution of these plans;

o   Ensure adherence to non-production data anonymization for the platform according to the agreed parameters

·       Capacity Management

o   Work with all key stakeholders to ensure that our underlying platforms are accurately sized to meet current and future requirements;

o   Stay close to the on boarding and demand management roadmap;

o   Conduct/Manage performance analysis and fine tuning of processes to minimise any potential adverse impact thus ensuring optimum efficiency of our existing infrastructure;

·       Obsolescence Management

o   Help to delivery on the applications and infrastructure obsolescence management plans working with the Application Production Support and Infrastructure Management teams;

o   Work with Domain Owner and vendors to ensure that all upcoming obsolescence is managed in a timely manner for all components of the third-party applications to ensure certification and alignment with BP2i deadlines;

·       Release Management

o   Key stakeholder in the hardware and application software releases and upgrades;

o   Ensure appropriate change control arrangements are in place for these applications and that thorough IST/UAT and pre-Production testing is completed prior to each release;

o   Liaise with IT Application Owner and Release Manager to ensure that most suitable technical solution is being put in place and is fully understood and documented;

o   Work with Release Manager to ensure that all Change Approval Board (CAB) standards are met to ensure that all releases are successful;

·       Risk Assessments

o   Undertake, on an agreed basis, risk assessments on all application related activities including infrastructure, vendor, end user usage and run costs;

·       Application Continuity

o   Liaise with APS and IT Application Manager to ensure that Disaster Recovery Plans and Service Continuity with the relevant Application Production Support teams;

·       Change Impact Analysis – Project and Change Requests

o   Act as key stakeholder for any projects and implementations impacting these applications ensuring all measures are taken for successful delivery;

o   Work with other members of the HFS IT team to ensure that interfaces with other applications and third-party applications work as required;

o   Work with vendors on the implementation of any new modules/interfaces;

o   Ensure that impact of all change is validated in terms of infrastructure, flows and all application layers;

·       System Documentation and Procedures

o   Develop and contribute to all application related documentation and procedures, including the:

§  Annual Management Plan;

§  System and Technical Configuration Documentation;

§  Application Production Support teams Training materials on changes

·       Application Knowledge Transfer and Training

o   Arrange or deliver, as required, training material and knowledge transfer on changes for the Application Production Support teams;

o   Ensure all project changes are fully documented and IT are briefed / trained prior to handover as required;

·       Problem Management

o   Troubleshoot problems providing technical support and problem resolution – participating in reviews of problems and devising solutions and plans with the key stakeholders;

o   Liaise with Infrastructure and Application teams on items relating to routine and ad-hoc maintenance, technical support and development as required with the Application Production Support team

o   Identify and propose ongoing improvements based on defined problem indicators.

·       Other

o   Keep up to date on the latest software developments and propose ways that the software can be applied to make the business more efficient and successful;

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

Key Skills, Knowledge and Experience

·       Knowledge of system design, development, implementations, and user support principles and practices;

·       Experience of querying SQL databases is essential, stored procedures, SSMS, NoSQLBooster, Mongo experience a bonus;

·       Experience with Autosys and PowerShell scripting is a plus;

·       Experience with Linux, Linux commands and Windows, administration including day-to-day maintenance, troubleshooting and development is essential;

·       Experience of MQ Series or RabbitMQ a plus;

·       Experience of managing software upgrades;

·       Exposure of the SS&C Advent Geneva application would be beneficial;

·       Understanding of infrastructure and networks such as Firewalls, VIPs, data flows, certificate management;

·       Experience with information system troubleshooting including windows and database logs;

·       Knowledge of system connectivity options (e.g. APIs);

·       Experience of working within a global organisation and working with teams across a number of locations.

·       Demonstrable ability to face challenges with an analytical approach and to find solutions to effectively solve problems
