About Businessline/Function :

ISPL FSS is set up as a Shared Service Centre and works on an Extended Plus model, within a defined governance structure. It is a Global hub and delivers services to CIB Finance teams across the geographies. It is organized by 7 work streams and provides services across multiple countries.

Performance Steering within Finance Shared Services is responsible for accurate and timely management accounting, reporting and budgeting activities.

Position Purpose

The candidate is expected to manage the team who responsible for the timely and accurate reporting in management accounting systems, reconciliation between management and financial accounting, perform systems feeding and administration, supporting the annual expense budget & periodic forecasts exercise, intercompany reconciliation, responding to queries and coordinating with various teams to ensure proper completion of monthly deliverable. He/she will be leading the communications with stakeholders, regional and group level team


Direct Responsibilities

Management Accounting & Control Functions

·       Perform month-end reporting for all CIB entities within the set deadlines

·       Perform reconciliation between management accounting and financial accounting and substantiate balances and breaks pertaining to both costs and revenues.

·       Work closely with regional Central PMs / Country PMs and Head Office Finance in resolving issues and breaks

·       Perform reconciliation between various Management accounting systems and perform feeding between systems by closely working with various IT and support teams

·       Perform systems administration for management accounting systems viz. loading exchange rates, opening rights for users, versioning, consolidations etc.

·       Actively participate in the budget and forecast exercises following HO and Regional PM guidelines

·       Assist in monthly system parameters checking; update and maintain referential (i.e. mapping tables) for which the team is responsible

·       Preparation of business line wise reports providing insights to the management on business performance (covering P&L and headcount)

·       Provide assistance in responding to questions / requests for information to auditors, regulators

·       Escalating problems / issues to the team manager

·       Perform necessary controls, raising questions to the senior reporting analysts for further guidance on material issues

·       Document and keep procedures for the production of all reporting tasks up-to-date







Contributing Responsibilities

Projects, Systems Support, Operational Process Improvements

·       Assist in identifying process improvements in production, control procedures, and workflow organization to increase the team’s efficiency and effectiveness  

·       Participate in the upgrades / version releases of respective reporting tools, as well as system amendments / enhancements required to facilitate new / modified reporting requirements. In connection with this effort, assist in user acceptance testing and trouble-shooting after deployment.

·       Help formulate system enhancements for operational process improvements in production, control procedures and workflow to increase efficiency and effectiveness. Assisting in integrating and streamlining reporting under the team’s responsibility.

·       Provide cross-training to colleagues and perform specific duties as assigned (e.g. coverage for colleagues

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

·       5 years of experience in a global financial services company

·       Prior accounting, management reporting experience desirable

·       Excellent PC skills; ability to learn new systems quickly

·       Advanced knowledge of MS Excel (formulas, pivot tables, charts, and graphs)

·       Working knowledge and understanding of Smartview/Essbase desirable
