About Business line/Function:
The Coverage & Territories Credit Management (CTCM) Team is responsible for completing the credit analysis for MNCs (including due diligence when necessary).
The Credit Team performs credit analysis and provides credit recommendations on their respective delegation perimeter to Credit Committees, Transaction Approval Committees when the credit opinion on a specific counterparty is required, other RISK entities, Business Units or functions in response to general enquiries, Portfolio review committees.

Position Purpose
This role is responsible:
– for performing credit analysis of MNC clients and recommendation for corporate advances with a view to minimize credit losses and promote business growth
– for the management of credit analysts
Responsibilities
To be referred to the Credit Analyst Charter and Mission Statement.
Direct Responsibilities
As a Credit Analyst:
· Preparation of credit analysis, including recommendation to the credit committee, with a view to minimize credit losses and promote business development.
o Prepare rigorous and synthetic credit proposals with accurate and comprehensive analysis in line with the bank policies, including analysis of financial statements, industry, economic data and identification, analysis and presentation of all key risks.
o Proposing to the credit committee appropriate ratings & GRR, using internal tools and Credit Analyst’s judgment.
o Ensure that annual review / transactions deadlines are met.
o Perform portfolio reviews, periodic covenant checks, and security monitoring as required in line with approval conditions of respective files.
o Communicate reliably and professionally with both internal and external clients.
o Liaison with different métiers and various BNP Paribas networks to share client information, ensure smooth and timely credit process to ensure that global reviews are properly and timely executed and to minimize overdue files in collaboration with Relationship Managers (coordination role)
o Monitor clients’ credit evolution and immediately alert the management for any early warning signals. This includes, but not limited to, timely update of financial spreadsheets, regular compliance checks on financial covenants change in ratings or any major event or material evolution.
As a Team Lead:
· Manage a credit analyst team.
o Time/tasks/portfolio allocation: properly allocate team capacity and make sure the Credit Analysts (CA) are properly allocated each time and prioritized (organization of admin. tasks, screening of ad hoc requests addressed to CAs, …).
o Make sure the CAs are properly trained according to each one’s needs and follow up the CA’s learning curve.
o Assist the Head of ISPL CTCM in coaching each CA according to their profile and experience.
o Assist in the preparation of CA’s appraisals, possibly with feed-back from other stakeholders (RM, GRM…).
· Assure the overall quality of the team’s output.
o Review of Credit Proposals (according to the seniority of the analyst/the RM and the complexity of the request): make sure all key issues are well analyzed in the CP.
o Feedback to analysts
o Review of data collection and reliability (portfolio review…).
o Ensure proper use of tools and policies.
When necessary, directly in charge of a portfolio.
· Guarantee the objectivity and credibility of the Credit Proposal and guarantee the Credit Analyst independence.
o Having a thorough knowledge of the portfolio.
o Making sure all key risks and facts relevant to the credit decision are analyzed and presented objectively in the Credit Proposal.
o Creating bridges between stakeholders, ensuring a healthy working relationship with all of them (RMs, DHs, SCOs).
o Arbitrating in case of diverging opinions between RM and Analyst.
Contributing Responsibilities
As a Credit Analyst:
o Presentation of credit proposals to local credit committees.
o Meet with clients jointly with Relationship Managers, when and where possible, to deepen the understanding of a credit.
o Participation in discussions and on potential deals.
o Keep updated on credit policies / methodologies
o contribution to relevant credit projects (tools, process, methodologies… including participation to tests).
o To contribute to any other portfolio or credit administrative and statistical works as require such as sector analysis, RDPC (Risk & Development Policy Committees) and watch list / doubtful processes.
o Supporting team members to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of the team.
o Assist the Head and team Lead of CTCM on ad hoc basis as required.
o Provide back-up on tasks performed by CTCM team when necessary.
o Contribute to the Permanent Control framework.
As a Team Lead:
- Portfolio oversight and risk anticipation
- When necessary, support on complex transactions and participation in Credit Committees
- Regular communication with the main stakeholders to improve credit process
- Contribute to the Permanent Control framework
