Position Purpose – Team Leader – Finance team for BNPP GIFT IBU

Responsible for providing strategic direction to the finance, accounting, and tax function of BNPP GIFT IBU through Financial Accounting, Group and Regulatory reporting, Management accounting, Budgeting, Management information and Tax planning, defining expense policies and internal control procedures. Represent the bank on financial matters with industry, governmental, and regulatory organizations as well as with ratings agencies and outside investors, as applicable.

Responsibilities

Directly responsible for the Finance function of BNPP GIFT IBU

Financial Management, accounting and reporting tasks:

·       Financial accounting (including contribution to TAC/ NAC, coordination of the closing process, auditor liaison)

·       Tax reporting and controls: monitoring of tax risk including its computation, payment and reporting

·       Statutory accounting and local regulatory reporting.

·       Financial Management: creation, closure and review of the capital needs of the entity

Compliance with internal controls principles:

·       Secure the implementation of permanent operational control framework covering all Finance activities.

·       Performance of LoD 1 Accounting Controls in strict liaison with the APAC LoD2 Controls Team

Management of Accounts Payable team

·       Booking and payments of general expenses (including Staff Claims)

·       Fixed Asset capitalization and amortization as per accounting norms

·       Intercompany invoicing, accounting, and reporting

·       Provisions and accruals for expenses

Management Accounting

·       Drive the Annual Budgets and Forecasts exercise; and tracking of actuals

·       Management Information Reporting

·       Business partnership / stakeholder management

Finance Projects & Systems, SLA management

·       Roll-out of new systems, change of organizational set-up

·       Maintenance and enhancement of accounting ledger and Finance systems,

·       SLA management and sign-offs

Regulatory compliances and reporting

·       Preparation of periodic regulatory returns to be submitted to regulator (IFSCA)

·       Responsible for SEZ filings/Compliance – Filing of MPR, APR, SERF returns

·       Responsible for all Direct and Indirect Tax compliances

Candidate Requirements for the role:

•       Education Background:

–        Chartered Accountant, CPA or equivalent

•       #years of experience:

–        8 to 12 years

•       Technical knowledge & Skills:     

–        Strong knowledge of financial accounting, budgeting and tax regulations

–        Strong knowledge of Banking and Financial Products

–        Preference to candidates with Awareness / exposure to GIFT City regulations and compliances including SEZ compliances

–        Ability to adapt to core accounting and multitude of back-office systems

–        Proficient in MS Office applications such as Excel, Word PowerPoint

•       Preferred Industry / Domain experience :

–        Experience within a Finance function in Banks / NBFC

–        From a leading Chartered Accountancy firm with awareness / exposure to GIFT City regulations and compliances including SEZ compliances

•       Behavioural Skills / Competencies:

–        Team Management and leadership skills

–        Stakeholder management

–        Excellent communication and presentation skills

–        Keen analytical qualities to analyze figures and regulatory changes its effects in accounting
