About Business line/Function:
The Network Infrastructure and Telecom team is responsible for supervising, monitoring and developing the Networks, Infrastructure and Telecommunication of the regional Hub of BNP Paribas in the India region, liaising with BNP Paribas Head Offices where all major banking applications are hosted. Telecom Team activities plays a major role in the structure of processes that govern decision making around IT investment, client and suppliers relationships, project management.

Position Purpose
The main activities of the VP of Network is to manage, maintain, implement and promote secured, robust, stable, redundant, Network infrastructure. Explore, evaluate and propose latest technologies in network domain. Lead BAU team for operational activities, any critical incident or task. The person will lead the team ensuring effective service management to meet service-level agreements and control costs.
Responsibilities
Direct Responsibilities
· Lead the Network team responsible for day to day support and project implementation on network infrastructure
· Responsible for managing the network infrastructure aspects related to power shutdowns in Data centres and technical rooms, disaster recovery exercises and any other activities affecting the health of the network infrastructures
· Provide network design, solution deployment, and technical documentation for network related equipment such as routers, switches, wireless etc.
· Prepares the regional budget for the support and maintenance of the network infrastructure area (including voice) ensuring aggressive negotiations, cost-effective solutions and management of the IT spend.
· Build and lead a regional team
· Must ensure staffing is sufficient and fully competent through recruitment, training and mentoring Manages the relationship with major stakeholders of networks.
· Ensure timely and comprehensive reports/updates to stakeholders whenever network incidents occur.
· Must build a strong relationship with our internal stakeholders and with vendors.
Technical & Behavioral Competencies
responsible for the configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization of Cisco-based network infrastructure. This role ensures high availability, security, and performance of Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and collaboration tools.
Key Technical Responsibilities:
- Cisco Device Management:
- Configure and maintain Cisco routers (ISR, ASR), switches (Catalyst, Nexus), and firewalls
- Deploy and manage Cisco DNA Center for network automation and assurance.
- Implement VLANs, trunking, STP, and EtherChannel for optimal traffic flow.
- Network Security & Compliance:
- Configure Cisco ISE (Identity Services Engine) for network access control (802.1X, MAB).
- Enforce ACLs, NAT, and VPN (IPsec, AnyConnect) for secure remote access.
- Performance Monitoring & Troubleshooting:
- Use Cisco Prime Infrastructure, SolarWinds, or Wireshark for network monitoring.
- Troubleshoot OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, and HSRP routing issues.
- Cisco Wireless infra:
- Manage Cisco Access-points or Catalyst wireless controllers for Wi-Fi optimization.
- Backup, Recovery & Documentation:
- Maintain Cisco configuration backups (TFTP, FTP, or Cisco Prime).
- Document network diagrams, IP schemes, and troubleshooting procedures.
Required Technical Skills:
- Certifications:
- CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) (required).
- CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) (preferred).
- Technical Expertise:
- Cisco IOS, IOS-XE, and NX-OS command-line configuration.
- Cisco SD-WAN, ACI (Application Centric Infrastructure), and DNA Center.
- Network protocols (TCP/IP, VLANs, STP, OSPF, BGP, HSRP, QoS).
- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork abilities.
Specific Qualifications (if required)
· B.E or Equivalent
· 10+ years of experience in Network services, with minimum 7 years in finance industry
· 5+ years of experience as Network Architect with focus on network related components i.e. Cisco, Juniper, etc.
· Expertise in connectivity and HFT network infrastructure design, implementation and support (CCIE is a strong ‘plus)
· Experience with Equity and high-frequency trading (HFT) infrastructure is preferred
· Experience on Automating daily network tasks using scripting (Python) preferred
· Client-oriented, strong communication and organization skills
· Expertise in PMI methodology
· Self-starter
· Ability to work under pressure
· Fluency in English
